According to ASP Kankane, a complaint was filed against the accused under Section 307 (attempt to kill) of the Indian Criminal Code (IPC), and he was placed on day police remand on Thursday.
On Friday, District Collector Ilaya Raja T. enforced NSA (National Security Act) against the accused Ashutosh Srivastava. Today, the accused will be prosecuted under IPC Section 302 (murder), according to ASP.
Moreover, Bhagwat Singh Birde, Superintendent of Police (Rural) in Indore, stated, "According to the Principal's family members, Vimukta Sharma filed a written complaint against accused Ashutosh three times with Simrol police station Assistant Sub Inspector Sanjeev Tiwari. He did not, however, take any action. ASI Tiwari was suspended on Thursday as a result of the investigation."
